IPod

Just listing music on IPod and though of writing an article on this beauty. I got an IPod Video (30 GB) and IPod nano (2 GB). Both are excellent and can easily handle my whole collection. Before that I used to manage with a Sony cd player (I still loves this one). So I need to carry my favourite CD’s and extra battery’s. IPod indeed changed they way music is now played. If we take an IPod in hand it looks like a cigar box, which is also as addictive as a cigar. A cigar case can hold fewer cigars; but this baby can handle 75000 songs.
Design – It’s sleek and with minimal buttons on body. This again matches with other apple family products. Nobody in world thought this tiny master piece will change the whole world. Looking carefully, you will be amazed to see that it doesn’t even have a ‘shut down’ button. I wonder if this design was given to Microsoft Vista developers, what would be output (Vista comes with amazing 9 options to shutdown your PC, if you haven’t read the article, get some time and do read this one http://moishelettvin.blogspot.com/2006/11/windows-shutdown-crapfest.html). The best part is that while designing it, they never followed or looked traditional music players. Its simple and you never required a manual to understand its operation. While how to copy music into IPod? Use ITunes - to buy and download songs, pod casts. But frankly it is not as simple as IPod.
Zune Vs IPod – There is another copy product from Microsoft. I don’t blame Microsoft for that; they are here to earn money. Then it doesn’t matter if they get this from copying other products. They try to copy Vista from Mac and then Zune from IPod. But still they are the best when it comes to acquire market and business. I haven’t personally seen Zune but read reviews on various sites. Personally I don’t want to compare the great IPod with any new product, IPod is pioneer and others will follow them in design and ideas. New designers might add few things which are not their in IPod. One feature which I really like from Zune is FM transmitter, which allows you the play radio. Again you can also read user reviews on various sites.
Jonathan Ive - If you own IPod you must know this guy. He is the designer of IPod. He had won various awards for his designs with apple. You can read various articles about his designs with apple. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,6903,1111276,00.html

Recent Bad Incident

Recent incident narrated by one of my colleague; it goes like this

“It was really late that night when I heard knock on my door. I opened the door with security latch on; it was my neighbor from kerala with a stranger. My neighbor is from kerala half of month he stays here in pune in rental apartment and rest back home. He wasn't looking good at all; not able to speak properly. The stranger introduces himself and told me that he is a taxi driver; and brought him from station, total rent comes out to be 100; but this guy says he only got 80. I looked at my neighbor, he was not in any state to answer or reply. I went inside and brought the difference. I paid the driver 100 Rs. and asked my neighbor about his luggage, the taxi driver told me that he saw only one hand bag and nothing else, he asked me to come out and check his taxi. This taxi driver seems to be a good man. At that time i thought to just take down the taxi number and name and let that man go. Then I take my neighbor's keys and opened the door and kept him on his bed; checked if he wants anything. But he looks like really drunk and not in a state to answer anything. So I decided to go back to my apartment and check with him in morning. I called the owner of apartment to let me know that such thing had happened.
Next day morning, i got important meeting to attend; so left my apartment in rush. Next 2 days i didn't get chance to check with my neighbor. After 2 days in evening i decided to check with him again. So i knocked his door; he was sitting on the bed, still not looking good. Sitting besides him, i narrated him about the incident 2 days back. He was really surprised to hear that, he said he didn't not remember a single thing from that. Then my neighbor told me about the part he remember. As usual he was traveling back from kerala; and there were problems in Maharashtra due to train was burn by some bad people. So after reaching mumbai he decided to leave some late. He found a bus coming to pune. There was one stranger sitting besides him; looks like a good guy, started conversation with him. After half of the journey, that guy started offering some food. But my neighbor refused taking anything. There was one halt in between and the guy brought some tea. Saying that “you have to take this, this is good”. Initially my neighbor refused, but after insisting a lot. He took a sip. But he felt something wrong and thrown rest away. After that he didn't not remember a thing. How he came back, how is in home. That stranger managed to take away his cell, wallet and bag. Kept him with some money.
This doesn't end here. My neighbor hasn't doing well since. He is really sick for 4-5 days. After consulting with doctors and with medical report; it was found out that – he was give large dose of drugs through the tea. He was lucky to survive, since the intake by him was small. If he had in taken that tea. He might not have not made it so far. Still it will take another 2-3 weeks for him to recover back”

At the end he was lucky to survive, i have heard other similar stories where one of guy taken a taxi and then taxi driver taken 2 other strangers saying that he could make some more money. These weren't stranger but planned by that taxi driver, at stop they gave him some food; which again contains heavy dose of drugs. Then these guys stabbed him; taken him to ATM and withdraw money ( he was little awake) and then thrown him out of car. This guy wasn't lucky as above person. He died few days after.
Lots of thing to learn from this
Do not go by private shared vehicle; although it will save your money.
Always go by public transport. In above case since the guy was traveling from a bus. The guy might not get chance to harm him further.
Keep your friends and colleagues informed about your travel.
Never eat any food give by stranger.
Never discuss about your family and purpose of your travel to stranger.
Do not carry lots of valuable when you are planning to travel alone.
Although how careful you are. This world if full of bad people, they will always try to grab money from you. So if somebody tries to attack you, remember one thing - “Life is important, money isn't. You can have money back, not life”.

If you have heard or have similar information. Please do share. I will try to post or link it on my blog.

What to write?

Its been long time since I have written anything. Well I must write something.
Huhhhhhh.. cannot write anything. I am out of words. This delivery dates makes you crazy :(. Now a days nothing much happening. But on long weekend - I went to my very good friend Rajiv. Had excellent time together- I got option to go by Plane. or drive all 1000 miles from CAR. but I opt for BUS. That was a good experience. If you really want to see actual USA - i would suggest travel by BUS. I talked with lot of people - its almost 24 hours journey. Bus generally takes various stops and also at beautiful places. That gave me chance to go to kansas. It was around 1 1/2 hours of stop. So I went outside to glance at "Crown Center". Weather was good that day - well i think that's it this time. Will add something tomorrow.....If i think of anything ;(

Michael Jordan

I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my carrier.
I've lost almost 300 games.
Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed.
I've failed over and over and over again in my life.
And that is why I succeed.
